AMD is a degenerative condition affecting the macula—the central part of the retina responsible for sharp vision. It typically affects individuals over 50 and is classified into two types: dry and wet AMD. Symptoms include blurry central vision, difficulty recognizing faces, and trouble reading.

At The Eye Center, we use OCT and OCT Angiography to monitor the progression of AMD and detect fluid accumulation or abnormal blood vessels. For wet AMD, anti-VEGF injections are highly effective in reducing fluid and preventing further vision loss. Dry AMD requires ongoing monitoring and lifestyle adjustments including antioxidant supplements.

Regular monitoring is key in AMD management. Book an appointment at The Eye Center at 0304-1119544 or visit our website for expert macular care.
